Membership Print

Membership in the Council on Foreign Relations St. Louis Committee is by invitation from the
Board of Directors of the organization. The Board is always looking for people with interest
and/or background in foreign affairs and international relations.

Committee members frequently have demonstrated records of leadership in international
relations and/or positions as opinion-makers in the community and beyond, ideally enhanced
by an informed view of international issues.

The Committee’s membership includes local and regional business, professional, and other
civic leaders with substantial international knowledge and experience, and with acute interest
in expert dialogue on international relations.

Potential members, most likely will have international travel and professional or business
experience, and will have a prominent role in civic and professional organizations.

Interested individuals usually attend committee meetings as guest of current members and are
nominated for membership.

New members enhance our St. Louis Committee and our Committee has much to offer new
members who share our interests.

Taken together, the American Committees on Foreign Relations (ACFR), to which the St.
Louis Committee is affiliated, represents a select membership of more than 2,000 individuals
in 32 communities across the nation—people who play a key role in informing local debates
about international matters.
